India brought up the team’s hundred in just 10.1 overs on Day 4 of the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, marking the fastest team hundred ever in the history of Men's Test cricket. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's lightning fifty, in just 31 balls, was the key to India's historic achievement. India went past their own record of the fastest Team hundred in Tests surpassing the record they created against West Indies in 2023 where they brought up 100 runs in just 12.2 overs at Port of Spain.

After bowling Bangladesh out for 233 in 72.2 overs, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal came out with all guns blazing, showcasing proper intent to push the Test’s result in their favour, given that previous two days were washed off.

Jaiswal gave Bangladesh bowlers no time to settle as he struck three consecutive boundaries in the very first over. Rohit followed suit by hitting two back-to-back sixes on the very first two balls that he faced. Both the openers got India’s score past the 50-run mark in just three overs, recording the fastest team 50 in Test cricket.

Though Rohit fell to Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz soon after, there was no stopping Jaiswal. He notched up an individual fifty in just 31 balls, becoming the fourth fastest half-centurion for India in Tests.
