WWT20 IND vs AUS: India decides to bat first, Mithali misses out due to injury

After winning the toss, India has decided to bat first. Both teams have been belligerent, but Australia definitely has got the upper hand in every regard

After winning the toss, India has decided to bat first. Both teams have been belligerent, but Australia definitely has got the upper hand in every regard, both in this tournament and historically. In the tournament, India has made 8.06 runs per over, which is better than that of every team except Australia (8.37).

Historically, Australia holds an 11-3 advantage over India and at the World T20.

India has suffered a major setback when it comes to the bowling department, with the leg-spinning all-rounder Devika Vaidya having been ruled out of the tournament after sustaining a knee injury, India are one spinner short in the match.

Viadya has been replaced by fast-bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar.

India will be up for some real test when they take on a mighty Australia in an inconsequential tie at the Providence Stadium.

Both India and Australia are unbeaten so far in the tournament and despite Saturday's match being of little significance a win for the women-in-blue will put them in pretty good stead in the knockouts.
