After Losing World Test Championship, Virat Kohli Makes Huge Statement About New Zealand Pacers
In the final of the WTC, New Zealand's fast bowlers performed brilliantly and bundled Team India out for just 170 runs. Following this, the Kiwi batters also played well and led the team to victory.
WTC Final: India had to face defeat in the World Test Championship Final. New Zealand lifted the inaugural WTC title by winning the Test match by 8 wickets.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli praised New Zealand players after the game. He said that New Zealand have fit bowlers who manage to sustain a good rhythm for a long time. The Indian team has not been able to withstand the Kiwi bowling attack, having succumbed to below-200 scores in the last six innings against them. The Indian batters performed quite poorly in the WTC final.
Fitness Of Kiwi Bowlers
After the match, Kohli said: "New Zealand's team is very impressive. We have seen them over the years. They have a great team that really likes playing cricket."
He said that the New Zealand bowlers could pitch the ball in the same spot for sustained periods because of their fitness and rhythm. Kohli said, "if you don't put their bowlers under pressure, they are so fit that they will keep bowling in the same area all day long and land you in trouble."
Kohli Lauds Jamieson
Kohli lauded New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson, who dismissed the Indian skipper in both innings. Kohli said: "Jamieson is a good bowler. I have faced many bowlers like him in my career. The extra height, I think, gives him a distinct advantage. It is difficult for batters to face him when he is in his rhythm.
"I believe we weren't able to apply enough pressure on Jamieson. We allowed him to bowl in the same spot. He wasn't bowling in areas where we could score runs against him," Kohli added.
