In Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025, each team has been given a budget of Rs 15 crore to build a squad of up to 18 players, including a maximum of six overseas players. Teams had the opportunity to retain players from the previous season prior to the auction.
Most franchises retained their core groups but released some players to free up funds for new acquisitions during the auction. The total value of retained players was deducted from Rs 15 crore budget, determining the remaining purse for the auction.
Gujarat Giants have entered the auction with the largest purse of Rs 4.4 crore, while Delhi Capitals, runners-up in both 2023 and 2024, have the smallest purse at Rs 2.5 crore.
All five franchises are strategically bidding to build their squads, making this auction a high-stakes and exciting event.
