Women’s IPL Teams Auction: Adani Group Wins Ahmedabad, Check Out The Full List Here

Adani won Ahmedabad with a whopping amount of 1289 Crores for a 10-year license.

The BCCI on Wednesday announced the successful bidders for the Women's Premier League. Adani won Ahmedabad with a whopping amount of 1289 Crores for a 10-year license. Indiawin sports private limited bagged Mumbai with the bidding amount of 912.99 crores. Royal Challengers Bangalore got Bangalore for 901 crores. JSW bought Delhi for 810 crores while Capri Global acquired Lucknow for 757 crores. The combined bid valuation was INR 4669.99 Crores. It is a historical day for Women's cricket and cricketers. 

 

The event took place in Mumbai, a total of 15 bidders were there who competed for five WIPL teams.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  in its 91st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai, approved to conduct of the Women's Indian Premier League (IPL). The apex cricketing board has released an official statement to make the highly anticipated announcement. 

Franchise owners of men's IPL and other big corporates like Haldiram's, Apollo Pipes, Shriram Finance, Adani Group, Torrent, Kotak, JK Cement, and Accord Distillery were there in the fray.

Earlier, in January the BCCI invited bids to own a team in the WIPL. There were a total of 33 documents that went on sale for the five WIPL franchises. It is predicted that bidding range will be between Rs 800 to Rs 1,200 crore per franchise. The inaugural season of the Women's IPL is likely to be played from March 3 to 26, which will be followed by the men's IPL.

"Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces release of Invitation to Tender for the right to own and operate a team in Women’s Indian Premier League," the board said in a statement.

"The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the right to own and operate a team in Women's Indian Premier League, through a tender process."
