Virat Kohli is my favourite batsman in the world, says Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi said that Kohli is his most favourite batsman in the world but he has a lot to learn from Mahendra Singh Dhoni as far as captaincy is concerned

Pakistan former skipper Shahid Afridi believes India skipper Virat Kohli is undoubtedly his most favourite batsman in the world but still needs to learn from Mahendra Singh Dhoni as far as captaincy is concerned.

In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Afridi said that Kohli is his most favourite batsman in the world but he has a lot to learn from Mahendra Singh Dhoni as far as captaincy is concerned. "As a player Virat Kohli is my favourite but he needs to work on his captaincy because for me Dhoni is still the best," Afridi said.

In the 2nd T20I between India and Australia, put into bat, Australia had ended their innings at 132-7 in the 19th over due to rain. The match was then reduced to 19 overs with India set a DLS revised target of 137 from 19 overs but further rain saw the target being revised twice to 90 in 11 overs and 46 in 5 overs before it was finally called off.

Afridi thinks that Indian batsmen need to bat well if they want to win against Australia.

"Australian pitches are not the same any more the ball bounces but it is easier to hit runs so India can win if they bat well in Australia," Afridi said.
Since 1947, India has toured Australia 11 times and are yet to win a Test series.

Before departing to Australia, the 30-year-old Kohli said that he is hoping to play a sledge-free series in Australia this time The Indian skipper spoke about the aggression on the field and stated that his team has never been the one to start "anything" but will stand up for itself if the line is crossed by the opposition.
