Vijay Hazare: Baba Indrajith Bats With Taped Mouth After Freak Injury, Picture Goes Viral
The pictures of the same went viral on social media where Indrajith was spotted batting with taped mouth.
Baba Indrajith’s brilliant campaign came to an end as Tamil Nadu lost their semi-final match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 against Haryana by 63 runs. Early setbacks made Tamil go on the backfoot before their star-studded middle order came in to restore stability but it was not the case as short cameos from Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik weren’t much of help and Shahrukh Khan was caught off on a paltry score of 13.
In a chase of 294, no batter showed temperament as Tamil Nadu didn’t even finish their 50 overs as they got bundled out for 230. Anshul Kamboj of Haryana was the pick of the bowlers as the pacer scalped 4 wickets alongside Rahul Tewatia, who grabbed 2 wickets, as Haryana made their way into the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023.
However, the most noticeable incident in the match was the way Baba Indrajith batted throughout his innings. He didn’t just show character, but also determination to go to any extent to win the match for his team as he batted with a taped mouth. Later, it was informed that Baba Indrajith suffered an injury during the innings break as he slipped in the bathroom and ended up incurring a cut on his lips. The pictures of the same went viral on social media where Indrajith was spotted batting with taped mouth.
Battling with stitches in the lip, showing unwavering commitment to the state team. 💪🏏

Riding off on a brilliant unbeaten 103 against Mumbai, and 92 before that against Madhya Pradesh, this tournament has been nothing but memorable for the Tamil Nadu batter as he amassed 330 runs in 7 innings, at an excellent average of 66, and a good strike rate of 89.92. Baba Indrajith has also been the highest run-getter in the tournament for Tamil Nadu and has made a strong case for his place amongst the potential players for Team India in the future.
The former KKR batsman will be looking to ply his trade back in IPL as his campaign will ring some bells for franchises.
