VIDEO: Comical mix-up for Bangladesh leads to run out against New Zealand

Nelson: New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 67 runs in the second one-day international at Saxton Oval on Thursday to take a winning 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

With Bangladesh coasting along at 105 for 1 while chasing New Zealand’s modest total of 251 runs in the 2nd ODI, the horrible mix-up between Bangladeshi batsmen triggered their collapse.

Opening batsman Imrul Kayes dabbed one delivery to short cover and sets off for a single and rushed to the non striker’s end. Unfortunately, Sabbir Rahman, his partner on the non-strikers end did not respond and turn back to touch his bat to the crease.

At one point, both batsmen were in the race for the non-striker's end. But Sabbir was beaten by Imrul Kayes by small margin. Sabbir received shock when he learnt he has to walk out of the field.
