USA vs IND Highlights, T20 World Cup 2024: India are through to the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The Men in Blue won the toss and elected to bowl first, keeping USA down to 110. In response, India got to their target in the 19th over, winning the match by 7 wickets to become the first team from Group A to secure a place in the next round of the tournament.

India's win was not without their share of hiccups with them losing Virat Kohli (0 off 1) and Rohit Sharma (3 off 6) cheaply in their run chase. Rishabh Pant (18 off 20) and Suryakumar Yadav (50* off 49) then shared a bit of a stand before the partnership between Suryakumar and Shivam Dube (31* off 35) helped the team get off the line.

Arshdeep Singh Chief Architect Of India's Win

Despite Suryakumar's match-winning fifty, it would be fair to say Arshdeep Singh was the chief architect of India's win. The left-arm speedster picked four wickets for 9 runs off his 4 overs. He was right on the money, picking a wicket on the first ball of the innings before scalping another off the last ball of the same over to put the home team on the backfoot.

For USA, Nitish Kumar was the top-scorer with 27 off 23 while Steven Taylor made 24 off 30. With the ball, it was Saurabh Netravalkar who tested India, removing both Kohli and Rohit in his first spell. Eventually though India came out on top to storm into the next round of the competition.

The defeat has not eliminated USA who will face Ireland in a must-win game where they will aim to win with a good margin to try and proceed to the subsequent round of the tournament, at the expense of Pakistan whom they beat earlier in the tournament. This was USA's first loss in the tournament in three matches.

India will take on Canada in their last group-stage match in Florida on June 15.
