Glenn Phillips, honoured as the Player of the Match, emphasised the significance of the eight-run lead in the first innings in a closely contested battle. He commended the team's spinners for their exceptional performance and acknowledged Mitchell Santner's crucial contribution.

"That eight runs mattered a lot. We pride ourselves on fighting for as long as possible. Our spinners bowled incredibly. The Bangladeshi batters came out with an intent. To restrict them to chasing 138 is very pleasing. The intent was there in my gameplan. The way Mitch played also helped me. He’s got amazing hands. Credit to him and credit to all the boys," Phillips remarked.
