Star England batsman to miss first ODI due to injury
Dawid Malan has been called up for his cover in today’s game
Right ahead of the first face-off against India at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, the England cricket team have received a huge blow. In-form batsman Alex Hales has suffered an injury during the practice session and will miss today's game.
The England Cricket Board confirmed the development on their official Twitter handle a few hours before the toss of the 1st ODI. In addition, middle-order batsman Dawid Malan has been called up as his cover for the 1st ODI.

England and India, currently ranked first and second respectively, play the first match of their upcoming series in Nottingham on Thursday, in what will kick off a month-long extravaganza of One-Day Internationals featuring 10 sides, spread across four continents.
