Sri Lanka and Nepal cricket fans were seen dancing together their teams' ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 Group D fixture was washed out due to rain. There was heavy downpour at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida's Lauderhill which forced the cancellation of the match. However, fans did not seem to mind that they could not watch their team play but instead danced together, in a brilliant sporting gesture once the fixture was abandoned.


Sri Lanka vs Nepal happened to be the first match that was washed out without a ball being bowled in T20 World Cup 2024. It was a crucial game for both the teams in order for them to remain in contention for a place in the Super 8. While there was continuous rain which delayed the toss and the start of play, the match had initially been reduced to a 5 overs a side game after which the rain returned which forced the match officials to cancel the match with the teams sharing a point each.

However, after the match, the video of the fans of the two Asian countries dancing together went online.

Australia, South Africa Only Teams Through To Super 8s

Meanwhile, Australia and South Africa remain the only teams that have proceeded to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 so far. Both the teams have won three out of three matches so far and are guranteed of a place in the next round. All others are still fighting for a place in the next round. India, although are leading Group A, have played 2 matches so far and need to add points against their name in their coming fixtures to go through.
