Saurabh Netravalkar may be playing for the United States of America (USA) in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 but he his family remains rooted in India, an opponent their will face at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 12 (Wednesday). His father Naresh Netravalkar and sister Nidhi have seen a rapid change in their schedule ever since Saurabh played a part in the team's stunning win over former champions and 2022 finalists Pakistan in Super Over.


The Netravalkar family in Mumbai is now known as Saurabh Netravalkar's family. They suddenly find themselves answering phone calls, replying to social media messages and giving time to local and national media all because of the left-arm speedster who took what he described as a 'practical' decision to move to the States in order to try and play cricket at the highest level and succeeded.

However, even Saurabh plies his trade for USA, ahead of the USA vs India T20 World Cup 2024 matches, his sister Nidhi has revealed that she will be cheering for India even as she wishes Saurabh to do well.


"We are supporting India. We want India to win the World Cup, and we are confident they have a good chance. That’s also what we had hoped for in the ODI World Cup. We were born and brought up here, and we love Indian cricket," Nidhi told News 18's CricketNext.


"We definitely want India to win not just this match but the World Cup, but we also want him to perform well," she added.


"So, yeah. It is a dilemma for us," she said.

India, USA Unbeaten In T20 World Cup 2024


India and USA have both been unbeaten in T20 World Cup 2024 so far. While India have registered wins over Ireland and Pakistan in their first two matches, co-hosts USA have also won against Canada and Pakistan. The two teams eye a birth in the Super 8s stage of the tournament while Pakistan would hope India beat USA by a healthy margin to help their cause of qualification.
