Sri Lanka have called in Dhananjaya de Silva in the ODI squad to replace injured Kusal Perera for the three-nation series in Bangladesh.
New Delhi: Sri Lanka have called in Dhananjaya de Silva in the ODI squad to replace injured Kusal Perera for the three-nation series in Bangladesh.
Kusal Perera suffered a strain during his 49-run knock which helped the Lankans beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets. The 27-year-old has been advised rest and will miss the rest of the tournament.
ODI skipper Angelo Mathews has already returned to Sri Lanka after suffering a hamstring injury. His participation in the Test series against Bangladesh also remains in doubt.
Dhananjaya, on the other hand, will head to Bangladesh with high confidence in his bag. The 26-year-old returns to international duty after playing a match-saving 119-run knock in the third Test match against India in Delhi.
The right-hander has played for Sri Lanka in 17 ODI’s. However, his last appearance in the coloured clothing came way back in June 2017.
