Notably, Pant met with an accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway when he reportedly dozed off while driving. The wicketkeeper-batter wanted to surprise his mother for New Year and opted to drive his Mercedes to his hometown Roorkee after returning from Dubai.

Pant's car rammed into the divider and flipped over twice before it caught fire. Fortunately, the cricketer was helped out of the window minutes before the vehicle was burnt completely. After receiving treatment for impact injuries at Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre, Pant underwent treatment at the Max Hospital in Dehradun.
