Sandeep Lamichhane Denied US Visa, Likely To Miss T20 World Cup 2024

Sandeep Lamichhane Denied US Visa: The ex-Nepal captain has been denied a US visa, the leg-spinner announced on social media.

Sandeep Lamichhane, the Nepal leg-spinner, has claimed that he has been denied a visa to the United States of America (USA) which has put his ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 participation in doubt. Notably, the former Nepal captain was cleared of rape charges recently and was likely to receive a call-up in the national team post being found innocent by the Patan High Court after being sentenced to eight years in prison by a subordinate court.

This is set to be Nepal's maiden appearance at the ICC event and Lamichhane, given his reputation with the ball and his record in whatever international and league cricket he has played, merited a place in the side.

The 23-year-old took to X to share an old tweet along with which he wrote: "And the @USEmbassyNepal did it again what they did back in 2019, they denied my Visa for the T-20 World Cup happening in USA and West Indies. Unfortunate. I am sorry to all the well wishers of Nepal Cricket. @USAmbNepal @CricketNep," he wrote.
