Coronavirus Scare Rocks Bangladesh Cricket With Batsman Saif Hassan, Conditioning Coach Testing Covid-19 Positive

Both members of the Bangladeshi nation squad have been placed under self-isolation post them testing positive for the novel virus. They will have to get themselves tested for Covid-19 once they complete their isolation period.

The coronavirus pandemic attack seems both alarming and relentless on the world of cricket as Bangladesh Test batsman Saif Hassan and Nick Lee, the national team’s new strength and conditioning coach on Tuesday tested positive for the novel virus following the first round of Covid-19 tests conducted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the country’s apex cricket body. Both members of the Bangladeshi nation squad have been placed under self-isolation post them testing positive for the novel virus. They will have to get themselves tested for Covid-19 once they complete their isolation period. “Our consultant for COVID-19 is reviewing Lee’s case to determine whether it is a new or previous infection before advising on the management plan,” Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) sports physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. Over a fortnight back, IPL Franchise CSK got quite the scare ahead of their preparations for the upcoming IPL season when two of their players and ten support staff members turned out Covid-19 positive in their training camp in Dubai. An established cricketer at the domestic level in both the first class and List A format, Hassan made his Test debut for Bangladesh earlier this year against arch rivals Pakistan at Rawalpindi.
