The Indian men's cricket team received a fantastic reception after they returned home followng their win over South Africa in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados. While they landed amid large cheers and applause from fans, some of whom had queued up hours before their arrival to catch a glimpse of the history makers along with the trophy, they then checked into the ITC Maurya Hotel in Chanakyapuri.
While a few players including captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal were seen dancing to the beats of Dhol as they entered the hotel, there were exquisite delicacies waiting for the Indian players at breakfast. While there was a special cake that was prepared by the hotel on the occasion, there were also special breakfast items for Team India players.

Trophy On The Cake Made Out Of Chocolate: ITC Maurya Chef
"The cake is in the colour of the Team's jersey. Its highlight is this trophy, it may look like an actual trophy but this is made out of chocolate...This is our welcome to the winning team...We have arranged the breakfast in the special venue and we will offer them a special breakfast.." the executive chef at ITC Maurya told news agency ANI.
"ITC Maurya believes in sustainability, so the breakfast has options made with millets. There is healthy food as well as a bit of indulgence," he added.

Meanwhile, a Times Food Report claimed that India captain Rohit was served a Mumbai-style Vada pav while Virat Kohli was served an Amritsari-style Chhole Bhature. There was custom snacks in place which included pistachio naan khatai, cinnamon sugar palmier, charoli and paprika cheese twist, as per the same report. Sundried tomatoes and amaranth pinwheel were said to be there.
