India Legends defeated Sri Lanka Legends in the final of the Road Safety World Series by 14 runs. Captain Sachin Tendulkar was “ecstatic” after the victory of his team. Tendulkar shared the message on his Instagram along with the pictures from the Sunday’s victory. At one point, India was struggling at the start of the innings when they lost Sehwag and Badrinath cheaply.

Indian batting was decent in the second half of the innings. After India Legends lost Sachin half way through the innings, India’s score was 78-3. But then, Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan took charge of the innings for India. Pathan scored 62 of 36 balls while Yuvraj scored 60 of 41 balls. Their innings took India’s total to 181-4 at the end of 20 overs.
The win must come as a relief as India Legends bowling after putting a good enough score was not very attractive. India Legends gave away 62 runs in 7.1 overs without taking a single wicket. It was looking as if Jayasuriya and Dilshan would run away with the game for Sri Lanka Legends. After both the openers were back in the hut, only Kaushalya Weeraratne scored runs at a brisk pace and posed some sort of a threat in front of India Legends bowlers. He was dismissed due to Vinay Kumar’s brilliance in the field.
