It seems that for some, the sky is the limit and it totally suits well on the newest member of the Indian squad Prithvi Shaw. Making a debut at the age of 18 years 329 days, Shaw has made another record. He has become the 27th Indian batsman to score half-century in the debut Test debut innings. He did this by accumulating a fantastic half-century in the opening session of the first day of the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot.

Not only that, Shaw scored the first fifty of his International career in 56 balls with the help of 7 fours. Simultaneously, he also became the fourth batsman to score the fastest half century in first innings for India.

Prior to that, Yuvraj (Prince) of Patiala (42), Hardik Pandya (48) and Shikhar Dhawan (50) made half-century in their debut games.

Before Shaw, who made his debut in England; Hanuma Vihari also made a mark in the first half of the last Test against England by hitting a half century.

The Indian squad had a decent start in the first session despite losing its first wicket in form of KL Rahul in the first over of the match with just three runs on board. Shaw shared a 50-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara and led the team to a strong position before lunch.

Until the last update, Team India's total score and the partnership of both the batsmen have reached close to 100 runs.

After winning the Toss, India has decided to bat first in the first match of the two-match test series being played at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium.
