New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore have announced Harpreet Singh Bhatia as replacement for injured Sarfaraz Khan for remainder of the tenth edition of IPL.

Sarfaraz Khan suffered an unfortunate injury during practice session in the run up to IPL, which forced him out of the tournament.

Harpreet has been in tremendous form in the domestic season scoring tons of runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Madhya Pradesh. He finished as the leading run-scorer of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter-Zonal tournament for Central Zone in 2016-17.

This will be Harpreet’s second tryst with IPL. He had earlier turned out for Sahara Pune Warriors India.

The left-handed top order batsman has represented India under-19s in the past.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's next encounter is against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 23 at Kolkata.
