De Kock, Duminy to lead SA against Lanka in Du Plessis' absence
Du Plessis was forced to leave the field in the 10th over of the Sri Lankan when he hurt his right shoulder while attempting a catch
South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and all-rounder Jean-Paul Duminy have been named captains for the rest of the ODI series and the one-off T20I respectively, against Sri Lanka. The announcement was made by Cricket South Africa after regular skipper Faf du Plessis was ruled out from the series following a shoulder injury.
The Proteas are scheduled to play two more ODIs against Sri Lanka in Kandy and Colombo on August 8 and 12 respectively. The visitors have already clinched the series 3-0 while De Kock has been given the responsibility to lead the side in the rest of the two face-offs.
On the Other hand, Duminy will lead the pack in the only T20I to be played in Colombo on August 14.

On Sunday, Du Plessis was forced to leave the field in the 10th over of the Sri Lankan when he hurt his right shoulder while attempting a catch. The South African captain played no further part in the ODI, which South Africa won comfortably by 78 runs to win the five-match ODI series 3-0.
"Faf sustained an injury to one of the rotator cuff tendons in his right shoulder and will, unfortunately, be unavailable for the rest of the tour. He will need a rehabilitation period of up to six weeks to make a full recovery. His return date back to South Africa will be confirmed in due course," Mohammed Moosajee, South Africa's team manager, who is also a medical doctor, said.
