While Team India has received its fair share of criticism in the past, after their ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph it is now time for them to soak in all the adulation and keep on collecting prizes and honour. Not long after their win over South Africa in the final that helped Team India claim its fourth World Cup- T20I or ODIs- and their first World title in 11 years, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a whopping Rs. 125 crore as prize money for the victorious team.
And now a day after Team India was formally handed over a Rs. 125-crore cheque at a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Maharashtra government has announced Rs 11 crore prize money for the members of the Indian cricket team. The prize was announced by none other than Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday (July 5) in central hall of the state's Vidhan Bhavan.
