The T20 World Cup-winning Team India was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence after they returned home following their win over South Africa in the final. PM Modi sat and interacted with every member of the side, congratulating them for their efforts. He even asked specific questions to players. When captain Rohit Sharma was explaining the rationale behind his walk to collect the trophy, PM Modi asked a hilarious one-line question which left the entire team in splits.

As Rohit said that it was the players of the team who thought he should not simply walk to collect the trophy and he chose to do a dramatic slow-motion walk to the trophy, PM Modi hilariously asked if it was the usually mischievous Yuzvendra Chahal who had proposed the idea. PM simply said: "Ye Chahal Ka Idea Tha Kya (Was It Chahal's Idea)" which sparked laughter from everyone present at the venue.

When PM Modi Was Left Surprised At Rishabh Pant's Mother's Confidence About His Recovery


During the session, PM Modi revealed that he was left surprised when he talked to Rishabh Pant's mother after the wicketkeeper-batter had sustained a near-fatal car crash in December 2022. Modi said that it appeared to him that Pant's mother was assuring him that her son would be alright. PM Modi said that at that moment he was convinced that a person who had a mother of that temperament would be able to make it through.
