LSG To Get Another Captain? KL Rahul 'Hopeful' Of Reuniting With Former Franchise Ahead Of IPL 2025
KL Rahul’s response to a fan’s question about moving back to former IPL franchise ahead of IPL 2025 goes viral.
KL Rahul has been a hot topic for the past few months ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2025. After what was a poor season for his current IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2024 season and an animated chat with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after one of the matches, speculations have been rife that KL Rahul will likely move to other team in the next season. Amidst this, KL Rahul set the social media abuzz with a three-worded reply to a fan’s request in a video that is going viral.
Amidst all the rumours about Rahul leaving LSG, one has been that Rahul will likely move back to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the team he began his IPL career with, ahead of the 2025 IPL.

While there has been no official word from either Rahul or the LSG franchise, a video of Rahul’s interaction with an RCB fan has gone viral on the internet where the fan expresses his desire to see Rahul back in RCB, to which the India batter replies with “Let’s hope so”.
“I am a die-hard RCB fan. I am following RCB since very long, and you playing past in RCB, and now definitely the rumours; I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come into RCB and rock here,” the fan said in the video.
With a smile, Rahul responded, “Let’s hope so,” a brief three-word reply that left fans stunned and excited across social media.

Notably, KL Rahul made his IPL debut in 2013 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), before moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad for two seasons (2014-2015). He rejoined RCB in 2016 but missed the 2017 season due to injury. After being released, he signed with Punjab Kings (2018-2021) and is now with LSG as the team captain since IPL 2022.
