When Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, who was sitting beside him when the incident happened, was quizzed what was it that came for Kohli, he revealed that it wasn't Chole Bhature, which was what netizens were assuming it to be, but Kulcha Chole.
"It wasn’t Chole Bhature, it was Kulcha Chole," Dravid told the broadcasters after the match.
"He was tempting me with it but I said I’m 50 years old, I can’t handle so much cholesterol anymore," Dravid jokingly said.
While Kohli didn't get a half-century in the Delhi Test, he registered scores of 44 and 20 in the two innings and looked comfortable against the spinners for the majority of his innings on a surface which was offering assistance to the spin bowlers.
Dravid also showered praise on Kohli's technique against the spinners.
"I thought the judgement of length was really good, there was a sense of calm when he was playing which is a great sign," he said.
"These are tricky wickets, you can’t play the perfect innings and you need a bit of luck to go your way," he added.
