Indian cricket team's senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has shared his thoughts on the future of Mumbai Indians' legendary captain Rohit Sharma as the IPL mega auction approaches.

Intense speculation surrounds Rohit Sharma's potential departure from Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of IPL 2025 auction. If these rumors prove true, the senior batter would become one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming auction.

Last year's IPL was marked by controversy when the five-time IPL champion Rohit was asked to step down from the captaincy, paving way for Hardik Pandya to take over.

With the IPL 2025 mega auction approaching, there is a lot of interest in Rohit Sharma. Sharing his perspective on the senior batter's future with Mumbai Indians, Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his belief that the Team India skipper will remain with the franchise.

"Even if you think like Rohit, it's not wrong at all. I don't want any headache. I have been a captain for India. I have captained Mumbai many times. Even if I am not a captain, I am going to Mumbai happily. If I play for Mumbai, it's super. I am sure most players are like that. After a stage, money doesn't matter for some of those players. That's the thing," R Ashwin said while speaking in one of his videos for his YouTube Channel.

Mumbai Indians' decision to remove Rohit Sharma as captain faced significant scrutiny from fans. Hardik Pandya's tenure as captain resulted in a disappointing season, with the franchise finishing at the bottom of the table in 10th place, securing only 4 wins and suffering 10 losses.

Rumors suggest that both Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, seeking a new and strong leader, might make a substantial bid to secure Rohit Sharma in the IPL 2025 auction.
