The Pakistan cricket team is facing heavy criticism from fans on social media following reports that premier pacer Shaheen Afridi and skipper Shan Masood were involved in a heated scuffle in the dressing room.

The altercation reportedly took place after Pakistan's humiliating loss to Bangladesh in the first Test of their two-match series on home turf.

Bangladesh made history by defeating Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first Test of their two-match series, taking a 1-0 lead. This victory marks Bangladesh's first-ever win over Pakistan in a Test match.

Following Pakistan's loss to Bangladesh, the team management made a significant change by dropping Shaheen Afridi from the squad for the second Test.

However, the bigger shock came from reports within the Pakistan dressing room, where it is claimed that Test captain Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi were involved in a physical altercation.

Pakistan head coach for red-ball cricket, Jason Gillespie, stated 'family and personal reasons' behind the decision of Shaheen Shah Afridi's omission.

"We had a good conversation with him and he fully understands we are looking at the best combination for this game and the last few weeks have been interesting for him with fatherhood and other things, this break will allow him to spend time with his family," said Pakistan head coach.

Fans on social media are buzzing with claims that wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who attempted to calm the situation, became an unintended victim as both Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi reportedly turned on him during the scuffle.

The second and final Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh begins from Friday (August) 30 onwards. Toss for PAK vs BAN 2nd Test has been delayed due to rain.
