Indian Premier League (IP) 2025 mega auction was full of surprises, with a major highlight being the bidding war for 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Hailing from Samastipur, Bihar, this promising left-handed batsman entered IPL 2025 auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Despite seasoned players like David Warner and Ajinkya Rahane going unsold, teams fiercely competed for Suryavanshi, making him the youngest-ever player in IPL history.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals outbid Delhi Capitals to secure the young prodigy for Rs 1.10 crore.

Who is Vaibhav Suryavanshi?

Vaibhav has been making waves in Indian cricket. He debuted for Indian Under-19 team last month, where he scored a stunning century against Australia in a Youth Test. His performances in domestic tournaments like Ranji Trophy, Hemant Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, and Vinoo Mankad Trophy have solidified his reputation as a rising star.

Rajasthan Royals stuck to their strategy of retaining a solid core and made calculated moves at IPL 2025 Auction. The franchise utilized their budget wisely, securing key players to stregthen their lineup for the upcoming season.

Their marquee signings included pacers Tushar Deshpande, Jofra Archer, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, adding firepower to their bowling attack. The Royals also roped in spin maestros Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga, along with middle-order batter Nitish Rana, enhancing their depth in both departments.
