3-time finalist Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will open their campaign in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the third game of the season later in the evening at Dubai.
Popularly dubbed as the 'South Indian' derby in the Indian Premier League, the stakes have been pretty even in the 15 encounters between these two franchises over the 12 seasons in the IPL. Sunrisers hold the slight advantage with 8 wins as compared to RCB's six triumphs in their past encounters.
Royal Challengers Bangalore shall be once again led by their prolific run scorer and batting mainstay Virat Kohli who has led the side to two finals but lost both of them.

However, Kohli is on the cusp of scaling a major milestone in the match up against Sunrisers Hyderabad. If Virat-led RCB register a win over SRH in their tournament opener, it will be Kohli's 50 win as skipper. Kohli will become only the third skipper in IPL history to have achieved the 50-win milestone.
Chennai Super Kings seasoned skipper MS Dhoni stands atop the list of most IPL wins as a skipper. Dhoni in his highly successful stint as IPL skipper for CSK has secured 101 wins (101). Former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir stands second on the list with 71 wins. Meanwhile Rohit Sharma who has been the most successful skipper in IPL history with four titles to his kitty has led the 4-time champions to 60 wins in the league.
