Ever since making their debut in the Indian Premier League in 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have consistently been a potential challengers to the traditional heavyweights like Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL over the last few seasons.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who won the IPL title in 2016, made it to finals in 2018 and reached the playoffs in 2013, 2017 and 2019.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin their Indian Premier League campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Dubai International Stadium on September 21.
Sunrisers fortunes in the batting department will be largely dependent on the overseas troika of Kane Williamson, Australia's belligerant opener David Warner and English wicket-keeper batsman Johnny Bairstow.
While the ever consistent and highly prolific opener David Warner came back with a bang post serving a year long ICC ban to lead the run scoring charts in the previous edition of the league, Johhny Bairstow racked up 445 runs from 10 matches at 55.62 average and a strike rate of 157.24.
The middle order will once again be spearheaded by their cool and calm skipper Kane Williamson who can play both the holding game and also step up the tempo if required to be done so.. Eye catching strokemaker Manish Pandey will once again be the run accelerator in the middle order and would look to support from all-rounders in Mitchell Marsh or Vijay Shankar to add meat to the batting.
The Hyderabad franchise's strike weapon in their bowling armoury has been their potent spinner Rashid Khan who has always bamboozled batsmen with his bagful of tricks.. Rashid also has his Afghan spin twin Mohammad Nabi besides him and the two form a potent spin duo. If Nabi comes short of expectations, then Shabhaz Nadeem can always be roped into the playing XI.

Sunrisers have a well rounded seam attack which shall once again be lead by their all seasoned new ball strike bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kumar most likely will be partnered by one of Sandeep Sharma or Siddharth Kaul who is quite effective with his seam movement.
The Hyderabad franchise has plenty of seam options in Basil Thampi, Khaleel Ahmed and T Natarajan all of whom have proven their pedigree in the shorter format of the game.
Last but not the least, SRH have some very promising youngster like Priyam Garg, Virat Singh and Abhishek Sharma in their squad who would be raring to go at the big stage after showcasing their talent while playing for India at the Under 19 World Cup.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing XI: Jonny Bairstow(wk), David Warner(c), Virat Singh, Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad/Abhishek Sharma, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Basil Thampi/Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed.
