IPL 2020, RCB vs DC: Rabada Steals The Show, 4 Wicket Strike Leads Delhi Capitals To Victory By 59 Runs

DC vs RCB: Delhi Capital put up a mammoth total of 196 runs and registered a victory by 59 runs after RCB's back to back wickets and Rabada's four-wicket haul took the team towards grand victory

The Delhi Capitals bowlers managed to keep Virat Kohli quiet as the asking rate jumped to almost 15 runs an over. Virat Kohli departed as Kagiso Rabada took his first wicket of the match. The length was a bit tight, cramped Kohli for the room as he tried to knock it down the leg side. However, the ball took the bottom edge, and Rishabh Pant completed a good catch. The skipper departed after scoring 43 from 39 balls. Anrich Nortje sent back the dangerous AB de Villiers for 9 a little earlier. Earlier, spinners R Ashwin and Axar Patel struck in their first over to dismiss RCB openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch. Finch was dropped twice in two overs as Royal Challengers Bangalore began their hunt for 197 runs. Moeen Ali marched out of the crease and hit the ball by Axar Patel before it hit the surface. However, his shot went straight into the hands of Shimron Hetmyer as the batsman departs after scoring 11 from 13 balls in the 12th over. Kagiso Rabada was on fire. He finished with 4/24 to bring Delhi Capitals close to a big win. He picked up the big wicket of Virat Kohli to hurt Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hopes big time and followed it by dismissing Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube. Delhi Capitals posted 196/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 19 of the 2020 IPL on Monday. Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten half-century and along with contributions from Prithvi Shaw (42), Shikhar Dhawan (32) and Rishabh Pant (37) brought DC close to the 200-run mark. The Delhi Capitals got a breezy start with openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan, It was Udana from The Royal Challengers Bangalore opening the bowling attack. Prithvi Shaw started with a flurry of boundaries - hitting three of them in front of square, through mid-wicket, and then through square leg to fetch 14 runs from the first over. Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini bowled good length to attack the DC opener but there was no stopping for Prithvi Shaw in the first few overs as he hurled boundaries everywhere pressuring the RCB squad. After powering DC with a good score in 5 overs, RCB got the BIG FISH. In the 6th over of RCB vs DC, Mohammed Siraj came in with a good bouncer to Prithvi Shaw who tried to hook and was caught behind by AB De Villiers after gloving it. Prithvi Shaw left for 42 runs. Shikar Dhawan also left early. Udana mixed up the pace as Dhawan looked to go long over long-on, holed out to Moeen Ali for 32. It was a Big strike for RCB. Delhi Capitals reached 63/0 at the end of the Powerplay with Shaw off to a flyer.
