Performance by India Women's cricket team was sub-par as poor bowling performance and even poorer fielding made the light work out of Sri Lanka

India W Vs Sri Lanka W, 3rd T20I: Hopes for a series whitewash dashed as Sri Lanka Women defeated India Women on Monday at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. Riding on Chamari Athapaththu's unbeaten 76, the hosts posted a 7-wicket victory. After trailing the T20I series 2-0, Sri Lankan eve came out with all guns blazing as they dominated the proceedings right from the start itself.

Performance by India Women's cricket team was sub-par as poor bowling performance and even poorer fielding made the light work out of Sri Lanka as they barely broke a sweat in chasing a paltry target of 139.

None of the Indian bowlers had a decent outing except Renuka Singh who went for 27 runs off her four overs and scalped a wicket. Radha Yadav too chipped in one but she went way expensive by leaking 41 off her four overs.

Whereas, in the batting department, almost every top and middle-order batsman had a good start but couldn’t convert it into big scores.

Shefali Verma was the only player with a single-digit score (5) and Harmanpreet Kaur anchored the innings with an unbeaten 39. 

India Women won the T20I series 2-1 and next up for them will be the One-Day International series starting from July 1

The 3-match ODI series will be played for the ICC Championship points and India will eye to solidify their position amongst the best.
