New Delhi: India is set to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against Sri Lanka from July 13. Rahul Dravid has been appointed as India's coach for this series and Shikhar Dhawan as the captain. Both of them expressed their thoughts in a press conference before leaving for Colombo.

Dhawan said that he and the coach (Dravid) are "in sync" before the start of the India vs Sri Lanka series. He also said that it is "a great honour" to be the captain of the Indian cricket team. For the first time, India has picked a completely different side from the side that represented India in Test matches.

"It's a great honour for me to be captain of the Indian team. Looking forward to it. At the same time, as a team, with Rahul Bhai.. I have played under his coaching once for India A. I was the captain, and we played against Bangladesh. I feel that we are in sync together, the entire support staff and team," Dhawan said during a press conference on Sunday.

Shikhar also stressed on the need to build a healthy environment in the team where all the players "can express themselves". Take a look at what Dhawan exactly had to say:

"We are looking forward to this series, we gonna build a lot of positive things inside the team. There should be a happy environment where the boys can express themselves and be themselves and we get the best out of them. That is our focus and we have been preparing quite well in quarantine and now we are looking forward to going to Sri Lanka in three days and start training."
