India vs New Zealand, 1st Test: India have been all out for 46 runs in the first innings of the opening Test match of the three-match series against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday (October 17). New Zealand pacers William O’Rourke, Matt Henry shared nine wickets between themselves while Tim Southee also had a wicket to his name.
Henry scalped a five-wicket haul while O'Rourke finished with four wickets. For India, Rishabh Pant, after getting dropped, finished as the top scorer with 20 while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 13. None of the other Indian batters managed to breach the double digit mark with five batters getting out for duck including Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan.

India's Lowest Total At Home
India's grand total of 46, which includes 4 extras, is their lowest total at home and their third lowest total overall. Their batting skittled in about session and a bit after winning the toss and opting to bat first. While Day 1 of the opening Test match was washed out due to rain, the second day of the Test match started 15 minutes early with 98 overs scheduled to be bowled in the day.

India were reduced to 10/3 before a rain break. However, the break did not seem to help the hosts as they continued to lose wickets. India had made two changes to their Playing 11s, roping in Sarfaraz Khan in place of an unwell Shubman Gill while also including Kuldeep Yadav in place of Akash Deep. On the other hand, New Zealand too included Ajaz Patel as well as two spin bowling options in their Playing 11 but all 10 Indian wickets fell to pace bowling on Day 2.
