India Vs New Zealand 1st Test Day 2 | As It Happened
After a slight delay by the rain in the morning session, the match finally commenced. Rohit Sharma won the coin toss and surprisingly, elected to bat first under overcast conditions. The decision backfired heavily as hosts looked clueless in front of Kiwi pacers.
India lost their first wicket in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma, as he was clean bowled by veteran Tim Southee, and the wicket marked the start of a huge batting collapse of the home side.
Virat Kohli continued his poor form in the red-ball cricket with yet another dismal performance and was one of the five Indian batter who managed to score a duck in the first innings, namely, Sarfaraz Khan; KL Rahul; Ravindra Jadeja; and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Matt Henry picked up five wickets, and was well-complemented by William O'Rourkee, who picked up 4 wickets, as Indis was dismissed on 46 inside 31.2 overs.
