Let us have a look at the IPL 2024 performance of players in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad (updated till match 49) who have been selected in the 15-member contingent along with a few of those who narrowly missed out on the flight to USA. India begin T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York.
Rohit Sharma (MI) (captain)- India captain Rohit Sharma has scored 314 runs in 10 innings of IPL 2024 so far. The tournament saw him score his second IPL century, in Mumbai Indians' match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He has looked in good nick and has looked to follow the template of taking the team off to a brisk start. He has averaged 34 in the tournament so far at a strike rate of 158.29 and looks set to have a 400-plus run season this time around.
Hardik Pandya (MI) (vice-captain)- Hardik Pandya may have been made the captain of Mumbai Indians but did not particularly have a very good IPL. He has scored 197 runs in 10 innings at an average of 21.88. His strike rate has been 150.38 in these innings. With the ball in hand, Hardik has had 8 outings and has scalped 6 wickets, averaging 42.16 at an economy of 11.00.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)- Yashasvi Jaiswal did not get off to a very good start in IPL 2024 but announced himself to form, smashing a hundred against Mumbai Indians (MI), the team which features both the the captain and the vice-captain of India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Overall, he has 249 runs from 9 innings so far at an average of 31.12 and a strike rate of 154.65.
Virat Kohli (RCB)- His team might be having another horror season but Virat Kohli has shown why he is a class apart from the others. Despite some criticism of his strike-rate and his performance against the spinners in the middle overs, Kohli has scored 500 runs in 10 innings of IPL 2024 at an average of 71.42 at a strike rate of 147.49. He has smashed a hundred and four half-centuries in the season.
Suryakumar Yadav (MI)- Suryakumar Yadav missed the first few matches of the season for Mumbai Indians (MI) after he was not given the fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after recovering from a sports hernia surgery. He has played 7 innings so far in IPL 2024 and has scored 176 runs in them. He has shown glimpses of what he is capable of but hasn't been in top form as an average of 25.14 and a strike rate of 170.87 suggests. He has scores two half-centuries in 7 innings.
Rishabh Pant (DC)- DC captain Rishabh Pant has regained fitness and how. He was out of action since December 2022 which was when he met with a near-fatal car crash. Pant even feared an amputation on his way to recovery but he has come back to cricketing action and was declared fit both as a batter and keeper. He has smashed 398 runs in 11 innings at an average of 44.22 and a strike rate of 158.56. Pant has 3 half-centuries in IPL 2024 so far.

Sanju Samson (RR)- Sanju Samson has made a space for himself in India's T20 World Cup 2024 team with 385 runs from 9 innings in IPL 2024 so far at an average of 77.00 and a strike rate of 161.08. In addition, his leadership has been effective too. However, it remains to be seen if both Samson and Pant can fit into the same starting 11.
Shivam Dube (CSK)- Shivam Dube gives India a second medium-pace bowling all-rounder. It is his batting alone that can help him fit into the starting 11, if the balance of the Indian side allows. He has scored 350 runs from 10 innings at an average of 50.00 and a strike rate of 171.56. He has scored 3 half-centuries in the season already. With the ball, Dube has only got 1 outing as he has been used as an Impact Sub in IPL 2024. In the solitary innings with the ball, he gave away 14 runs for a wicket, averaging 14.00 at an economy of 6.00.
Ravindra Jadeja (CSK)- As far as Ravindra Jadeja is concerned, he hasn't had a great outing with the bat so far. He has accumulated 133 runs from 7 innings at an average of 19 and a strike rate of 164.19. With the ball too, Jadeja hasn't quite had the kind of impact that he would have liked, picking 5 wickets from 10 innings.
Axar Patel (DC)- Axar Patel's primary contribution for his team has come with the ball in hand. With the bat, however, he would like to improve his game if he wants to get a chance in India's Starting 11. Patel has scored 149 runs from 9 innings at an average of 24.83 and a strike rate of 124.16. He did score a fifty though in the season. With the ball in hand, Axar has 9 wickets from 11 innings at an average of 29.77 and an economy rate of 7.24.
Kuldeep Yadav (DC)- The left-arm wrist spinner could prove to be a valuable asset to Team India. He has been in good form too, picking 12 wickets from 8 innings in IPL 2024 so far. The DC bowler might have conceded runs at an economy of 8.45 but has broken crucial partnerships with his bowling.

Yuzvendra Chahal (RR)- The all-time leading wicket-taker of IPL 2024 and India's leading wicket-taker T20Is features in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. He hasn't played a T20 World Cup game so far and it would be interesting to see whether he gets a game this time as well especially with both Jadeja and Kuldeep expected to be the frontline spinning options for India. Chahal has picked 13 wickets from 9 innings at an average of 23.53 and an economy of 9.00 in IPL 2024 so far.
Arshdeep Singh (PBKS)- India's left-arm speedster Arshdeep Singh has picked 13 wickets in 10 innings in IPL 2024. His economy of 10.01 might be a cause of concern but having played a T20 World Cup before and delivering some impressive performances, India have backed the youngster to share the fast bowling load with Bumrah and Siraj.
Jasprit Bumrah (MI)- India's leading pace spearhead has had a good season with the ball in hand. He might have conceded a few more runs from his own high standards but has been mighty effective overall, picking 14 wickets from 10 innings at an average of 18.28 and a miserly economy of 6.40. He has a fifer against his name in this season already.
Mohammed Siraj (RCB)- Mohammed Siraj is not having the best of IPL 2024 but has still been trusted with a place in the Indian side for T20 World Cup 2024. He has taken 6 wickets from 9 innings, averaging 53.83 with a not so impressive economy of 9.50. However, Team India would hope that come the T20 World Cup, Siraj can deliver the goods for Team India especially with the new ball in hand.
