India deliver a comprehensive performance. Arshdeep set the tone early by dismissing Markram in the first over, and then the spinners took control. Bishnoi and Varun were exceptional too, taking 6 wickets between them, with 8 overs yielding just 53 runs. South Africa were kept under pressure as key batsmen fell one after another. Coetzee showed some resistance before being run out, and Avesh Khan wrapped things up by dismissing Maharaj. Despite a few fielding lapses, India's bowling was superb, and they dominated the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
India's first innings was totally about Sanju Samson who brought up his second consecutive T20I century off just 47 balls. He wins the Player of the Match award for it.

The guys in the dressing room have made my job easier, the fearless approach they play with for their respective franchises and have brought the same approach to the team.
Aiden Markram: We are going to bowl first. Looks a pretty good wicket. There has been some rain around this week and if there's moisture we want to make use of it. Fantastic opportunity for guys to make their debuts at home and it is a great time for them to enjoy the game. We are quite a competitive team and the discussions have been how can we get positive results.
Aiden Markram chose to bowl first and said that his decision to do so was beause of the whether around. Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, said that he would have batted anyway.

The IND vs SA series opener will take place at Kingsmead in Durban and India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav whereas South Africa will be led by Aiden Markram.
Interestingly, the IND vs SA T20I will be a rematch of the T20 World Cup 2024 final at Barbados where India beat South Africa to clinch their second T20 WC title. South Africa will have revenge on their minds going into the match against the Men in Blue.
The Proteas come into the series after a 2-0 Test series victory over Bangladesh in their recent away tour. Their last T20 International match was in September against Ireland in Abu Dhabi, where the series ended in a draw.

However, the squad travelling to South Africa features players who were not part of that Test series, as they focus on preparations for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India’s last T20I series came against Bangladesh at home where they massacred the visitors by 3-0.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side is expected to maintain a similar combination in their playing 11, with a few forced changes due to injuries. Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube will miss out, paving the way for debutants Ramandeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal to make their first appearances against the Proteas. Sanju Samson will be looking to build on his remarkable century against Bangladesh, which contributed to India's total of 297 runs.
