A thick layer of fog covered Delhi on Christmas morning as the air quality remained 'very poor'. The low visibility affected flights at the Delhi airport. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for Wednesday and warned of dense fog in the early morning hours.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 22 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Delhi airport said that while landings and takeoffs continue, flights which are not CAT III compliant could be affected due to fog.
"Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the airport said in a post on X.

CAT III is a navigation system which allows planes to land during dense fog and inclement weather conditions.

IndiGo airline has issued an advisory for its passengers. "A blanket of fog wraps Delhi's cold winter morning and may impact flight schedules. If you or your loved ones are travelling, we recommend checking the flight status before heading to the airport," it wrote in a post on X.
