In what looked like an easy win for Pakistan, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah turned the game on its head and secured his team a memorable victory at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Speaking to ANI, he expressed disappointment after Pakistan's defeat, acknowledging India's victory and congratulating Indian fans.

"I have sold my tractor to get a ticket worth 3000 USD. When we saw the score of India, we did not think that we were going to lose this game. We thought it was an achievable score. The game was in our hands but after Babar Azam got out, people were disheartened. I congratulate you all (Indian fans)," he said to ANI.

Bowlers Day Out In India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 Match

In the match, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. On a tough surface, Indian batters struggled, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failing to make significant scores. Rishabh Pant's aggressive innings of 42 runs provided some momentum, but India faltered in the lower middle order, finishing with a total of just 119 runs in 19 overs.

In the chase, Pakistan adopted a cautious approach, with Mohammed Rizwan anchoring the innings. However, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya picked crucial wickets, maintaining pressure on Pakistan. Pakistan fell short by six runs, with India securing victory. Bumrah's exceptional bowling performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' award.
