IND vs BAN, 1st Test, Day 2 Tea: Rahane Rooting For Century, India lead by 153 Runs
After Mayank, Ajinkya Rahane eyeing to bring up his 12th Test century
Opener Mayank Agarwal (156*) and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (82*) continued hammering the Bangladesh bowlers as they handed a 153-run lead to India in the second session of Day 2 of the Indore Test. The duo has stitched a 184-run stand for the 4th wicket so far and will resume the play after tea at 303/3.
Mayank brought up his third Test century which is also his third Test ton in four matches thus far. The Karnataka batsman has continued a scintillating run of form that has seen him smash over 700 runs in his eight-Test career.
Mayank played the role of an anchor as he initially shared a 91-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara and now building the innings further with Ajinkya Rahane for the fourth wicket. He hit 15 fours and one six on his way to the hundred.
On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane continued his sublime form as he slammed the 21st half-century of his Test career and now rooting for yet another century on the home soil. In due course, he also completed 4000 runs in the longest format of the game.
Mayank had finished the first session of Day 2 on 91 and managed to stay focussed to get over the line in the early exchanges of the second session. He led the way with the bat as India continues their domination in the first Test against Bangladesh. India are gunning for a record-extending 12th consecutive series win at home.
Earlier in the day, Abu Jayed got the hold of Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli in the morning session.
