India's highly talented young opener Prithvi Shaw is training hard and sharpening his batting skills by going through the hard yards ahead of the 4-match Test series versus Australia, which begins with the first Test in Adelaide on December 17.

The 21-year-old Mumbaikar shared a video on social media in which he can be seen practicing in the nets with skipper Virat Kohli standing at the non-striker's end.

"Back to Australia after almost a year, time to work hard and play harder," Shaw captioned the video posted by him on social media.

The Indian team is in full training mode ahead of the white-ball leg of the tour as bowling spearheads Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav can be seen rolling over their arms one after the other by bowling to Shaw in the video posted by young Mumbaiker.

Picked only in the Test squad for the all-format series against the Aussies, Shaw would like to make the most of his opportunities playing for the Virat-Kohli led Indian side in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Shaw would need to make an impression against a formidable Australian bowling attack as the Indians boast of quality openers in Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma.

Shaw who made a bombastic entry into Test cricket in 2018 with a century on debut against West Indies in Rajkot has been a bit lacklucture in his next four outings in the longer format, but struck form again scoring two half tons against New Zealand earlier this year.

The former Indian Under 19 star did not have the best of outings in the recently concluded 2020 IPL in the UAE, notching up 228 runs in 13 innings at a poor average of 17.53
