I am confident of playing the World Cup: Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, who has been experiencing a dip in form over the last two years said that he was confident of playing the World Cup 2019 for India

India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who has been experiencing a dip in form over the last two years, has admitted that he needs to improve against the spinners. Rahane has scored just three hundreds and eight fifties from 48 innings since 2016 but he remains confident that he will be able to make a comeback into the Indian ODI squad.

"There is no problem in my technique and so I am worried. I have to remain patient and convert the 30s and 40s to half centuries and then to centuries. At times you feel you are doing well but the results are not coming your way," Rahane told PTI on Saturday.

Not only that, the 30-year-old is very much confident of playing the World Cup 2019 for his side, saying that the domestic cricket has helped him to improve his game.

“I am confident of making a comeback and I am confident of playing the World Cup. That is why I played domestic cricket because it helped me and I am sure I will bounce back,” Rahane was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Recently, Rahane, while playing for India C scored a brilliant ton against India B to help his side India C clinch the Deodhar Trophy.
