In a surprising move, Sarfaraz Khan has decided to switch back to Mumbai, three years after he left the city to play for Uttar Pradesh.  The 20-year-old batsman submitted a letter expressing his willingness to play for Mumbai again, along with a No objection certificate from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).

The middle-order batsman, however, will not be able to turn up for Mumbai in the 2018-19 domestic season as there is a one-year cooling off period as per the rules set down by the Mumbai Cricket Association.

It is also learnt that the young star batsman, who represents the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, refused a joining offer from the Indian Navy in order to be eligible to play again for Mumbai.

“Three years back, he was not mature and left for UP because of his father's advice. However, he now has a mature head on his shoulders, and knows the value of playing for a top team like Mumbai," said a source close to him.

However, switching between teams is not very new to Khan as the right-handed batsman who impressed in IPL 2015 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, had switched to Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2015-16 domestic season.
