Indian team’s opener and one of the most prolific timer of the cricket ball in the current times, Rohit Sharma shared an image with his wife on his Instagram story on Thursday. The picture was taken in Chennai at a place which looks like the balcony of Rohit Sharma’s room. There is a sea in the background and his wife, Ritika is seen sitting alongside. Rohit shared this image on his Instagram story on Thursday and captioned it, ‘Quaran-Team’. He has been married to Ritika since 2015. Team India seems to be in a relaxed mood before the start of the England series.
The first Test against England is set to begin from February 5 from the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The English team too arrived on Wednesday after a small but successful tour of Sri Lanka. Indian players, on the other hand also have arrived in Chennai for the beginning of the series. The series is going to be long and will have four Test matches, five T20I’s and three ODI’s.
India is back after an enthralling series against Australia. Rohit Sharma was part of this series. But he wasn’t a part of the T20 and ODI series which preceded the Test series. He only featured in the last two Test matches at SCG and The Gabba. Rohit had a quite series where he scored 129 runs in the two games, at an average of 32.25. He will definitely be looking to better his record in the series against England and consolidate his place in the Indian Test side that is full of competition.
Ishant Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli are back in the team after a series break. Ajinkya Rahane, thus, is back to his original role of being vice-captain. Rahane’s wife also recently shared a video of the batsman playing with his daughter during quarantine in Chennai.
India and England will start the series on a high as both teams are in a good form. Will be interesting to see how things roll out in Chennai on February 5.
