IND vs PAK: Haris Rauf's Hostile Sendoff To Ishan Kishan After Ending India Batter's 82-Run Knock. WATCH

Rauf came up with a quick back-of-a-length delivery around off-stump and Kishan wanted to pull, but the ball hit the bottom edge.

India’s young batter Ishan Kishan played an outstanding innings in his team’s opening game against Pakistan at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. India were reeling when Ishan came out to bat and he went on to form a 100-plus stand for the fifth wicket alongside Hardik Pandya, reviving Men in Blue’s innings. Both batters ended up scoring half-centuries before departing.

It was Pakistan’s pacer Haris Rauf who dismissed Kishan in the 38th over of the game on the score of 82 runs. After taking the wicket of Ishan, his reaction grabbed the attention of the cricket fraternity. Rauf came up with a quick back-of-a-length delivery around off-stump and Kishan wanted to pull, but the ball hit the bottom edge. It went up in the air towards mid-on and Pakistan captain Babar Azam completed an easy catch. Rauf was charged up with the wicket and constantly made hand gestures, asking Kishan to quickly leave the crease.

It was a clinical batting from Kishan who has now registered four consecutive half-centuries in ODIs, equalling former India captain MS Dhoni’s record (against England in 2011).

Earlier, the Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first but then Rohit’s decision came under doubt as his team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Alongside Rohit, Virat, Iyer, and Gill were sent to the pavilion early in the innings. It was Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya who helped India stage a comeback against Pakistan on Saturday. They ended up building a 138-run stand, surpassing the previous best partnership for the fifth wicket in the Asia Cup as they went past Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif's 133 stand vs Sri Lanka in 2004.

For Pakistan, it was  Shaheen Afridi who took the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, while Rauf dismissed Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.
