Hardik Pandya, the star India all-rounder, received a warm reception on his return to his home city Vadodara for the first time after his staring in India's T20 World Cup triumph. Hardik had a great tournament with the bat and ball but most important had the ball in hand in the title-deciding clash when South Africa neeeded 16 runs to win from 6 balls.


Hardik held on to his nerves as India went on to beat the Proteas by 7 runs in a thrilling final. Post that, it has been a long celebration in India who were starved of a world title, with no wins in any ICC tournament in the last 11 years. The Men in Blue first got a grand welcome in New Delhi before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence.

After that, the team landed in Mumbai for the country's biggest party as an estimated 3,00,000 people gathered at the Marine Drive for an openbus roadshow to welcome the champions. Followed by the roadshow, there was a felicitation ceremony organised by the Board of the Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the victorious Team Indian where the Board handed over the sum of Rs 125 crore it had announced once India lifted the World Cup.


And now a roadshow was organised specifically for Hardik in Vadodara on Monday (July 16). Fans gathered in large numbers to give Hardik a grand welcome with the video of the roadshow going viral on the internet.

Hardik, the vice-captain of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian side, scored 144 runs in six innings at an average of 48, striking at 151.57. In addition, he was a more than useful with the ball, picking up 11 wickets at an average of 17.36 and an economy of 7.64.
