Team India is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for a series comprising three T20Is followed by three ODIs. The white-ball series will begin with the T20I series starting from July 26 onwards. This tour marks the first assignment for newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir with the national team.


According to a report in Hindustan Times, Team India's new head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will meet next week to discuss and pick India squad for IND vs SL white-ball series.

The report states that star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is likely to be named captain of the T20 squad while senior players Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will mark their comeback to the ODI setup.


Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an updated schedule for India's tour to Sri Lanka.

Youngsters Abhishek Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rinku Singh are likely to retain their spots in the T20 setup for IND vs SL T20Is, following their impressive performances on the Zimbabwe tour.
