During the Day 3 of the opening Test match of the Ashes on Sunday, Australia’s all-rounder Cameron Green took a blinder to dismiss Ben Duckett. The incident transpired in the 9th over of the game just after the match resumed after a rain delay. It was skipper Cummins who bowled a length delivery, pitching it outside off and Duckett tried to poke it. As a result, he ended up edging the delivery and Green who was stationed at the gully region pulled off an absolute screamer.

When Rain played spoilsport, England were batting 28/2 with a lead of 35 runs after Kangaroos were restricted to just 386 runs before lunch in reply to the hosts’ first-inning score of 393. Australian batter Usman Khwaja collected 141 runs – his first test hundred in England.

Earlier, English veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali produced a breathtaking delivery to dismiss Cameron Green on the score of 38 runs. The Australian all-rounder was looking lethal but then Ali came in and bowled a jaffa as he pitched the ball a bit outside off stump and it came in sharply and Green failed to read it and the ball went on to crash the stumps.

Previously, the veteran all-rounder announced his retirement from the longest format of the game back in 2021. But then ahead of the Ashes 2023, Ali got a call from the England side after their first-choice spinner Jack Leach got injured and was ruled out of the tournament.

The English side led by Ben Stokes and coached by “Baz” McCullum, have sealed victory in 11 Test matches out of their 13 and are looking to win the Ashes against world champions Australia in the five-test series.
