Babar Azam's century on Monday in the Colombo Strikers vs Galle Titans Lanka Premier League (LPL 2023) match helped him become only the second batter in the world after West Indies T20 legend Chris Gayle to score 10 or more centuries in T20 cricket.
Babar Azam, currently at number three in ICC Men's T20 rankings for batters, has so far scored three T20 centuries at international level for Pakistan. He has scored two centuries each in Vitality Blast and National T20 Cup, one century in Pakistan Super League (PSL) and another in a tour match against Leicestershire. In this way, after his century in the Lanka Premier League 2023, Babar took his T20 centuries tally to 10, also becoming only the fourth player to score a ton in Lanka Premier League since the inception of this T20 tournament in 2018.
